My deepest condolences to your family. Joe Dan Tipps was the best teacher I ever had, throughout all my school years. He made learning history fun and interesting, and he was the nicest person. He never had to yell at anyone because his example of a quiet, considerate person was such a great influence on us all. May he rest in peace in the Lord's arms.

Mr. Tipps was my Global II teacher at DeSales. He was such a good and honest soul, nothing held him back from what he loved to do: teach. You couldn't help but admire him. He was strict when he needed to be, but also knew the importance of a good joke.
His class was like no other. I've passed many of his "Tipps' Laws" about test taking and critical thinking onto my students today. He will be missed.

Mr. Tipps was the greatest teacher I ever had. He made History relatable! I loved it when he told us about historical events from the perspective of a fictional character..."Joe Pepperoni, Man on the Street". He truly made a difference in my life.

I was in Mr. Tipps class as part of the GHS Class of 1971. He was the best. Several members of our class went to visit him the night of our 45th Class Reunion, brought him goodies and talk about the "funny" times we had with him. He was a dear friend to me and not just a teacher...he was a role model and human being. I will miss him dearly.
