Joseph Nigro Obituary
Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, on Tuesday (April 30) from 4 to 7 p.m. Joe's Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday (May 1) at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls with Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor, as Celebrant. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Waterloo, N.Y., at the convenience of the family. If desired, contributions may be made to St. Patrick's Church, c/o St. Patrick's Church Office, 25 Center St., Waterloo, N.Y. 13165 or to the Aubrey L. DeMillo Scholarship Fund at the Margaret Whalen School of Nursing, c/o Geneva General Hospital, 196 North St., Geneva, N.Y. 14456.
Joe was born in Geneva, N.Y. on October 21, 1931, the son of the late John & Mary Capozzi Nigro. He had resided in Seneca Falls since 1955 moving from Geneva, N.Y. He retired after 43 years from Gould's Pumps of Seneca Falls where he was a Quality Assurance Manager. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls. An avid Euchre player, he enjoyed his many Euchre games at the Seneca Falls Community Center. He, also, enjoyed hunting and fishing over the years.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Babcock Nigro of Seneca Falls, whom he married on September 11, 1954; two daughters, Micki (Brian) DeMillo , Seneca Falls, N.Y. and Margaret (John) Pannucci of Seneca Falls, N.Y. and son, Joseph (Lauri) Nigro Jr. of Seneca Falls, N.Y., seven grandchildren , Michael (Christa) Nigro, Joseph (Tracey) Nigro III, Brian (Carolyn) DeMillo, Lindsay Nigro, Heather, David , & Lizzy Pannucci, four great-grandchildren, Ali, Anna, JoJo, & James Nigro, a nephew, Dick Marshall of Waterloo, who lived his teenage years with Joe and Judy and Dick's 2 daughters, Kim Manning & Marcy (Scott) Devine, a sister, Mary Marra of Glens Falls, N.Y., several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Joe was predeceased by his granddaughter, Aubrey L. DeMillo who died March 11, 2012; one sister, Elizabeth Marenez, and one brother, Sonney Nigro.
