Josephine Parete Obituary
She was born December 31, 1922 to the late Narzetti and Adele (Rossi) Nicandri in Seneca Falls, N.Y. Josephine married Jesse D. Parete, Sr. on August 15, 1942.
In addition to her parents, Josephine is predeceased by her husband, Jesse Parete, Sr.; six brothers Rudolph (Camilla) Nicandri, Amelio (Armeda) Nicandri, Guido (Mary) Nicandri, Dino (Vera) Nicandri, Ferdinand (June) Nicandri, Carlo (Katherine) Nicandri, and a sister, Pasquina (Daniel) Acquilano.
She is survived by her son, Jesse (Carol) Parete, Jr., of Vandalia, Ohio; and daughter, Mary Ann (Jeffrey) Leeper of Tega Cay, S.C.; four grandchildren Suzanne (Tim) Koon, Monika (Chad) Painter, Matthew (Stephanie) Leeper and Brian (Meghan) Leeper; four stepgrandchildren Kevin (Cintia) Gudorf, David (Sara) Gudorf, Heather (Jesse) Maleszewski and Heidi (Adam) Spearman, three great-grandchildren; seven stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Both Josephine and her husband, Jesse, were lifelong resident of Seneca Falls until she relocated to South Carolina in May 2005 and eventually to Ohio in April 2015. She was a faithful communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Seneca Falls, N.Y. and St. Ann's Church in Rock Hill, S.C.
When Josephine retired from Seneca Knitting Mill in 1987, her favorite pastimes were gardening, helping the SMS Auxiliary, and especially entertaining and teaching her grandchildren cooking, and arts and crafts projects.
Visitation will be Monday (June 28) from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Doran Funeral Home, 4 East Bayard St. in Seneca Falls. A funeral mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, 97 West Bayard St. in Seneca Falls. Interment in St. Columbkille Cemetery.

Mary Ann and Jess,
My very deepest condolences, I know you will never stop missing your Mom. You were all such an important part of my childhood, more happy memories than I can recount. Living in California means I won't be there to see you except in my heart.
