Margaret Johnson Obituary

Margaret Elieen Hudson Johnson, June 26 1937-August 2023 - My Bright Star has left me after 64 years and ascended to heaven to be with the Lord and her family; Milton, Mary, Jack and Patricia.

Margaret was born in Clifton Springs, NY. The daughter of the late Milton lvan Hudson and Mary Edna Manion. She grew up on State Street in Manchester, NY. Margaret Graduated from Red Jacket High School June 1955. She went on to attend Auburn Memorial Nursing School. She worked as a nurse in several medical jobs, Visa. Clifton Springs Hospital, Canandaigua Medical Group, Newark Medical Group and Newark Wayne Hospital. Other places worked were Contract in Finance Dept. at Xerox Corp. and Materials costing account at M.D. Knulton Victor, NY. Retiring 1994. She was introduced to Lee buy her brother John (Jack) 1957 as they served on the diesel electric submarine USS Jallao SS 368 in Groton Conn. She married F. Lee Johnson April 25,1959 at Saint Dominics church in Shortsville, NY. The same church her parents were married in 1928. Marg was the proud mother of a daughter and a son both born at Newark Wayne Hospital.

When first married we lived in a double house on west Maple Avenue, Newark, later removed to Phelps and built a new home (1962) on Fort Hill RD. this is where we lived for the next 61 years, near all Lee's cousins, the Raes. Margaret loved to knit cook and have family in for most all Holidays. She was Lee's right hand on all his projects, and then some!

In 2022 while Lee was involved in Margaret's family genealogy, it was discovered that Margaret had a Revolutionary soldier linked to her thru her father's mother Bertha May Harvey. This prompted her to apply for membership in the William Prescott, Newark D.A.R. Chapter. She was inducted into the chapter December, 2022. Also, while tracing her lineage, it was discovered that she was related to the Governor William Bradford (1620) of Plymouth Colony, Plymouth, Mass. She applied for membership to the Society of Mayflower Descendants and was accepted in September, 2022. Receiving certificates for both chapters.

She is survived by a nephew Wayne P. Hudson Sweet several cousins and family friends. Margaret's wishes are that there be no prior calling hours. Goodbye Honey, I love you and miss you! Lee.

Kathy
I´m very sorry for your loss . I know how much your mom Margaret was very proud of you.
We would talk when she came in to Gilbert´s jewelry store many years ago. Margaret adored you and was very proud of you. I hope you find peace knowing that your mom was very very proud of you and was very glad that you found John and she was also proud of your two girls.
May she rest in peace .
