Maureen Ward Obituary

WATERLOO - Maureen Ward, 62, passed away peacefully Friday, March 28, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer, with her loving and supportive family by her side.

In keeping with Maureen's wishes there will be no public calling hours or funeral service.

Because of her love for animals, Maureen requested memorial contributions be directed to Beverly Animal Shelter, 50 E. River Street, Waterloo, N.Y. 13165.

She was born August 26, 1962 in Waterloo, the daughter of David G. and Kathaleen M. (Brignall) Parrow. She was a 1980 Graduate of Waterloo High School. She, alongside her family, owned and operated Parrow's Automotive for many years. Maureen enjoyed the opportunity of being able to work with family every day and seeing friends come in and out of the store. She built many long-lasting relationships in the community.

Maureen's infectious smile and gentle nature drew in many friends. She was a part of a bowling league for several years and always enjoyed Monday nights at the alley. She was an avid animal lover and made her home a haven for any stray cats, dogs, squirrels or even birds.

Maureen is survived by her partner, David Elardo; her sons, TJ (Kelly) and Jason (Theresa) Ward; grandchildren, Izzie, Chase and Jaxson Ward; her parents, Kay and David; brothers, David (Margaret) and Robert (Cathy) along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

I am so sorry to read this news. Maureen and I shared many days watching our boys plays their high school sports and whenever I would see her, we´d both ask about our families and catch up a little. Through her battle, she never lost her smile or her gentleness. May she rest in peace. To her family, please remember the good times shared as you journey through the difficult days ahead. Memories live forever.

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the Parrow, Ward families, Dave Elardo, and all that knew and loved Maureen. We did not want this day to come. Maureen fought cancer so long and hard, and bravely succumbed to this illness. I will miss her dearly and I know many will. I read an article of a man in his 20´s who fought the long hard fight of his cancer. While he was passing away he said "The Prize of Peace is Finally Mine". Maureen RIP in God´s Kingdom, till we all meet again, God bless you!
