Nancy Sciarabba Obituary

GENEVA- Nancy (Pitifer) Sciarabba, 88, passed away peacefully on Friday morning (January 13, 2023) at Geneva Living Center North, Geneva, N.Y.

Friends are invited to join the family to celebrate Nancy's life at a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Stephen's Church, 48 Pulteney Street, Geneva, N.Y. on Thursday, January 19 at 1 p.m.

Contributions may be directed to Our Lady of Peace Parish, 130 Exchange St. Geneva, N.Y. 14456 or the charity of one's choice.

Nancy was born on October 1, 1934 in Geneva, N.Y. and was the daughter of the late Nunzio and Mary (DePalma) Pitifer. Nancy graduated from DeSales High School and spent most of her life in Geneva and Rochester, after she married her husband Frank on October 30, 1954. She was a loving and devoted Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. Nancy was known for her generous heart and empathetic ear, always a beautiful, graceful and caring person. Nancy had many friends and family whom she warmly welcomed in her home. While raising her six children, she worked part-time for Present Company, the Ontario County Sheriff's Department and Geneva General Hospital. She was a dedicated and active member of Our Lady of Peace Parishes in Geneva, and a member of the committee for the restoration and renovations of Our Lady of Peace Chapel.

Nancy is survived by her children, Delaine (Dave Barnick) George, Stephan and Dawn Sciarabba, August (Darla Evilsizor) Sciarabba, Mary Beth and Chris Christofalo, Vivian (David Gwynn) Sciarabba; Special daughter-in-law, Lori Sciarabba; sister, Diane Reale and brother Nunzio and Mary Anne Pitifer; grandchildren, Alissha (David) Skinner, Leah (Matthew) Andracke, Alexander (Sarah) George, Kristin (Brian) Sciarabba, Stephen Sciarabba, Kara Sciarabba, Kaci Sciarabba, Kayla Sciarabba, Sergio Christofalo, Angela (Dylan) Foster, Joseph (Jessica) Calabrese, Gina (Aaron) Bartlett; greatgrandchildren Alexis, Haylee, Quinn, Amare, Adalynn, Hudson, Lennox, Noelle, Grace and Elijah;Her friend until the end Rosie Felice.

She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Sciarabba; beloved daughter, Susan Sciarabba; sister, Sylvia Mizell; brother, Michael Pitifer and special friend Judge Arnold Ciaccio.

The family would like to express their thanks to all of the exceptional caregivers at Geneva Living Center, Seneca Lake Terrace and Ashton Place.
