Pat Passalacqua Obituary
Pat was born October 7, 1932 in Seoul, South Korea and was predeceased in 2020 by her husband of 67 years, Charles Joseph Passalacqua.
She is survived by her children, William (Laurie) Passalacqua, Brenda Laurenza, and Barbara Passalacqua; grandchildren; John (Tiffany) Passalacqua, Joseph (Allison) Passalacqua, David (Hannah) Laurenza, Maria Passalacqua, Susan (Rico) Cardinale, James (Brianna) Cardinale, Joseph Cardinale, Anthony (Tracy) Cardinale, Renee (Michael) Hertel, and Jeremy Hughson. Additionally, she leaves 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; Aunt Louise Damick; several cousins; nieces, nephews and many friends.
Pat arrived in the United States with her loving husband, Charles in 1955 after losing her entire family during the Korean War. She was a caring and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her commitment to family and friends was unsurpassed. She was an accomplished seamstress whose skills successfully translated while employed at several Geneva businesses. She touched the hearts of many and leaves this world a better place. We will miss Pat, but she will remain in our hearts forever.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday (May 9), in Geneva at the McGuigan & Bero Funeral Home, 45 High St. starting at 11 a.m. with a prayer service at 12:30 p.m. paying respect to both Pat and Charles.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that anyone wishing to honor her memory do so by making a philanthropic gift in her name to Alzheimer's research in the Del Monte Institute for Neuroscience at the University of Rochester. Barb, Jimmy, Brianna, and family,
Pat from Kmart (Kmart Pat), Grandma Pat, and Beema are the names associated with the order of my connection to your beautiful mom and grandma. Pat was the face of Kmart in Geneva. As a kid, I remember going there for fabric and patterns with my mom. When Bri met Jimmy, I was affectionately reconnected to Grandma Pat. I felt blessed to rekindle my connection to the ever smiling and kind Kmart Pat.
I soon realized much greater joy in witnessing the happiness, joy, and love Grandma Pat sprinkled on my baby, Brianna. This truly warmed my sad heart as it was shortly after meeting Jimmy that Brianna lost her grandma Eunie. Grandma Pat brought back the sparkle in my baby's eyes. And then came Lucas and Amelia and so came Beema!! Seeing the love, they had for their Beema and she for them, did my heart so much good. I loved every minute I was able to watch our grandchildren and my daughter share love with their GREAT Grandma Pat, Beema!! She will surely be missed but never forgotten!! I feel beyond blessed to have had your mom and grandma as part of the fabric of my life for all of my years!
