Richard Proper

Richard Proper passed away peacefully on Tuesday (June 13, 2017) at the Huntington Living Center, Waterloo.
A celebration of Richard's life will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday (June 20) at the R.A. Patrick Funeral Home, 26 West Main Street, Clifton Springs. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Riverview Cemetery.
Friends may contribute to the Clifton Springs Library in Richard's memory.
Richard was born July 20, 1926 in Naples, N.Y., the son of the late Claude Sr. and Myrtle Proper. He served in the Army during WWII. Years ago Richard was the milkman in Sodus, delivering milk and making friends along the way. He then worked for Hartman Metal Fabricators and ended his career at Cliftronics. He enjoyed polka music, woodworking and gardening. He also enjoyed taking long walks and sharing his stories with new friends he met on the way. But most of all Richard was a family man. He was happiest spending time with his loved ones. Richard was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend. He will be sadly missed by all.
Richard is survived by his children Nancy Wage, Yvonne (Mike Silverio) Lead, Diane (Gary) Husk and Lorraine Cook; 11 grandchildren; 16 great- grandchildren; brothers Claude M. Proper and Leslie Duane Proper; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Richard is predeceased by his wife, Dorothy; son, Steven Proper; sister, Evelyn Joseph; brothers Laurice, Lewis and Donald; sons-in-law, Jerry Wage and Robert Cook.
