GENEVA - Robert "Neil" Neilan Teague, Jr., age 81, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025 at Auburn Community Hospital.
Born on April 11, 1944 to Robert "Bob" Neilan Teague, Sr. and Julianne Reed Teague in Brooklyn, N.Y. and raised in Geneva, N.Y. Neil attended Geneva High School followed by Cornell University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. While attending Cornell he met his wife, Linda (Ann) Wood Teague. At Cornell he was a member of SAE fraternity, the lacrosse team, and ROTC.
He later went on to receive his MBA from Cornell and worked for GE Aerospace and Xerox before starting his own small business consulting firm in Rochester, N.Y. There he and Linda raised their sons George (Scott) and Ryan. Neil also was an Adjunct Professor in Business at St. John Fisher University. He was active in Rotary Club and Ducks Unlimited throughout his life.
He was known to be shrewd and resourceful, honest, and loyal. He could never turn down a good 'sale'. He was a big fan of having a cold beverage with friends and family and helping make a big homemade meal. He was never happier being around a good tailgate or cookout especially in support of his favorite Cornell teams (Lacrosse and Football).
He loved the Finger Lakes and all it had to offer from hunting and fishing, to the wine country and boating. He had a lifelong love of motor sports from watching the road race in Watkins Glen as a kid. He loved NASCAR, golf, and sports in general. He really had a lot of pride watching his brothers, sons, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren play sports. He was always known to keep company of a good hunting dog.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Bruce and Gary. He is survived by his sons, George Scott and daughter in law Rachel (Russo) of Middleton, MA, and Ryan of Uvalde, TX; his sister, Leslie of Tampa, FL; sisters-in-law, Ruth (Preston) and Beryl (Mulvey); his grandchildren, Alicia, Brooke, Colin, Lucas as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their children.
He will be laid to rest in Glenwood Cemetery in Geneva with his parents. A Celebration of Life will be planned for a future date to be determined.
Arrangements have been entrusted to DeVaney-Bennett Funeral Home.
