Ronald Chase Obituary

MANCHESTER/ GORHAM– Ronald E. Chase passed away peacefully on Wednesday, (November 29, 2017) at the age of 74.

Friends may call Saturday (Dec. 2) from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday (Dec. 3) at 2 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Gorham Cemetery.

Ronald retired from Tobins First Prize Meats after being a salesman for 27 years. Then he and his wife bought and ran the Old Mill House Restaurant in Gorham for 10 years. Ron stood at the grill every day cooking food for all to enjoy (no one ever left hungry). Even the "Big Ron" was named after him. He enjoyed sitting and drinking coffee with all of the regulars that came in.

He most recently was employed at the Tops (formerly Big M) in Clifton Springs, where all the patrons got to know what a great man he was. Even the children wanted to make sure they got to say, "Hi" when they came in. Ron gave a forever home to his latest kids Sweet Pea and Bubba, his beloved cats.

Ronald is survived by his wife of 31 years, Joellen Chase; sister-in-law, Anne Chase; three daughters Ronda (Daniel) Reynolds, Venus Edmister and Heather (Jason Hamelinck) Gundersen; 12 grandchildren Cassandra, Samantha (Dustin), Maranda (James), Courtney, Dyllon, Montana, Mary-Katherine, Christian, Mea, Oktohber, Brooke and Logan; five great-grandchildren Lotus, Christopher, Phoebe, Thomas and Alice; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Edward and Alice Chase; brother, Charles Chase; and great-nephew, Adam Chase, all from Gorham, NY.

My thoughts and prayers are with each of you as you go about finding a new normal way to each day. Our quick chats to solve the worlds problems were light and humorous as he checked out his purchases at Walmart. He will be missed. Rest in peace, Ron.

One of the hardest things I've had to do in life is to say goodbye... I cannot express in words the void my life is going to have without you. I love you beyond measure and I am so honored to have called you my dad......
