Sandra Quance Obituary
Please join the family at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 19, 2024, in East Palmyra Cemetery, Whitbeck Road, Newark, N.Y. for Sandra's graveside service. A memorial service will be at Grace Baptist Church, 3040 Walworth Road, Marion N.Y. 14505 on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at a time to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Humane Society of Wayne County, 1475 County House Road, Lyons, N.Y. 14489 in memory of Sandra.
Sandra, born to the late Herman and Virginia (Thayer) Wahl on February 13, 1940, in Sodus, N.Y., she was raised in the area and graduated from Sodus High School in 1958. She dedicated over three decades to serving local doctors in an administrative capacity before retiring. In her retirement, she sought activities to stay engaged and found fulfillment working in the cafeteria at Kelley School, where she remained until the age of eighty. Sandra took pleasure in tending to her gardens and cherished the company of her dog, cats, and birds.
Sandra will be remembered by her daughter, Michele (Vance) Backus; her son, Matthew (Wendy) Quance; grandchildren, Jason, Joshua, Rich, Rachel, Nate, Hannah, Amanda and Emilee; sixteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Sandra was predeceased by her first husband, Leon; her second husband, Raymond; a daughter, Melanie; and her sister, Barbara Bastian.

I am so sorry for your loss, even though I never new Sandra we have one thing in common. Our name. I am also Sandra J Quance. My husband Steven R Quance just passed away and in my searching the obituary's Sandra's name caught my eye. I am wondering if we may be distantly related through our husbands.
