Sarah Clyde Obituary
Friends and family may call on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Cheney Funeral Home, 70 Main Street, Phelps. A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday 10:30 a.m. at St. Felix Church in Clifton Springs.
It is requested that memorial donations be made in memory of Sarah to IAHP, 8801 Stenton Ave., Wyndmoor, PA 19038 (IAHP is a brain injury rehab center in Philadel phia which Sarah participated in for several years).
Sarah was born on August 6, 1983, in Newark, N.Y., the daughter of Stephen and Mary Thayer Clyde. She grew up in Clifton Springs and was a member of the St. Peter's Roman Catholic Community. Sarah graduated from Midlakes High School in 2002 as a High Honor Student. She received a perfect score on her Math Regents exam and her dream was to be a math teacher. Sarah was a three sport athlete, participating in soccer, basketball and track. She received many athletic awards from her coaches including the "Heart" award for her hard work and dedication. Sarah was a member of the National Honor Society and received an award for excellence in Physics. Sarah had 6 years perfect attendance prior to her accident. Sarah had a traumatic brain injury sustained in the accident on April 4, 2002. She continued her hard work and dedication by participating in an intensive rehab program which she continued at her family home for the past 12 years. She truly earned her "Heart" award.
Sarah is survived by her parents, Stephen and Mary Thayer Clyde of Clifton Springs; sister Katelyn (Michael Cipolla) Clyde of Buffalo; brother Jacob Clyde of Charleston, South Carolina; grandfather William Clyde of Shortsville; aunts and uncles Theresa and Richard Fee, Michael and Jill Thayer, Gerald and Linda Pollot, Eugenia and William Nolder, William (Jackie Jantzen) Clyde, Cindy Michalak; cousins Annalise, Nicole, Monique, Brian, Chad, Jeanene, Billy, Jessica, Elan, Megan and Nathan.
Sarah was predeceased by her grandmothers Dorothea Clyde and Genevieve Antes, cousins Mary Elizabeth Walker and Carrie Clyde.
Sarah's special help rehab team: Hope, Lisa, Stacy, Liz, Mike Hoffman, France, Heather, Jen, Jessica and Erin.

My heart is so heavy now that you are gone my beautiful cousin..I have such happy memories that I can revisit..babysitting you and Kate when you were little..the one that I always see in my mind is you being interviewed in my wedding video before you had your accident.
