Scott Theriault Obituary

GENEVA - Scott Thomas Theriault, 67, of Geneva, N.Y., passed away peacefully on June 4, 2023, in Toronto, Ontario Canada, with his loving son, Scott Theriault, of Pottstown, Pa., and his loving daughter, Katie Theriault Alain, of Lindsay, Ontario Canada, by his side.

Scott was born in Geneva, N.Y. to Clytis and Jeanne Theriault on December 28, 1955. He graduated from Geneva High School in 1974 and married his high school sweetheart, Susan Cunnigham, on June 30, 1979, at St. Stephen's Church in Geneva. Scott was a true Renaissance Man in every sense of the term, with an amazing breadth and depth of knowledge of many trades. He was a mechanic and builder who learned many of his skills from his beloved Uncle. Scott was truly a jack-of-all-trades. There were few things that Scott couldn't build, repair or modify. He created two very successful businesses over the years, 3S Construction with his Uncle and partner, and TIP Construction, ultimately building several homes and rental properties over the years. He built his own home with the help of his son and his many friends and partners, helped during the construction of Ventosa Winery in Geneva, and Happiness House in Canandaigua. He worked tirelessly to support his family, including work at the New York State Experiment Station and RIT to put his children through college. He loved his family without reservation and instilled the importance of Family First, learned from his close-knit Italian family.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Clytis and Jeanne Theriault of Geneva, N.Y.

He is survived by his former spouse and still friend, Susan Theriault; son, Scott (Talia) Theriault of Pottstown, Pa.; daughter, Katie Theriault (Andrew) Alain of Lindsay, Ontario Canada; brother, Alan (Sherry) Theriault of Athens, Ga.; sister, Patti (Ray) Ciancaglini of Romulus, N.Y.; grandchildren, Colton, Benjamin, and Addison Theriault, and Andi and Jordyn Alain.

Memorial donations in Scott's name may be sent to: The Second Impact, Ray Ciancaglini 5549 East Lake Road, Romulus, NY 14541, a 501 (C3) Organization, or The American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) P.O. Box 61420, Staten Island, NY 10306.

The family of Scott Theriault wishes to extend our sincere thanks to his closest friends, who were more like family, and for their unconditional love and support to the very end.

Arrangements to be made by the family and will be announced at a later date.

I'm at Scott back in the early 90s working at beals auto... Once I got to know him he helped me out when nobody else would, he knew I was a single parent of a young girl he let me on the weekends mow lawns for him and bring my daughter along on the riding lawn mower my daughter loved it... Scott didn't have to help me make extra money he did it because he's a decent human being... I lost touch with Scott for many many years in the mid-2000s he moved in the building next to me at Camelot apartments... He was my friend once again fixing my car helping me do things in my apartment when maintenance wouldn't he never asked for a dime or anything in return he would also get steaks and ask me to go eat with him because he was bored surprisingly he was bored I hardly ever knew him to be bored... My thoughts and condolences go out to Susan Katie and Scott my thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends

My deepest sympathies are extended to Scott´s family. Scott and I go back many years. Scott worked for our family business in his youth. I always admired his work ethic. And, that million dollar smile. RIP my dear friend.
