Shirley Warner Obituary

NEWARK - Shirley A. Warner, 89, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025, after a brief illness.

Please join the family at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 in Newark Cemetery, North Main Street, Newark, N.Y. for Shirley's graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Laurel House Comfort Care Home, 224 Fair Street, Newark, N.Y. 14513 in memory of Shirley.

Shirley was born the daughter of the late Louie and Cora Matthys on Thursday, February 20, 1936, in Newark, N.Y. She spent her life in the Newark area, where she graduated from Newark High School. Shirley worked for several years at The Paris Women's Wear store in Newark-a job she truly enjoyed, especially the opportunity to socialize with customers. Though she was happiest at home, she and her husband Kenneth enjoyed traveling together from time to time.

Shirley will be remembered by her son, Terry (Patty) Warner; her grandchildren, Kristin Warner and Marcy (Josh) Woodman; a brother, Donald (Erika) Matthys; and nieces and nephews.

Shirley was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth in 2022.
