Susan Scott Obituary

WATERLOO - Susan Rose Scott, age 50, passed away surrounded by family on Friday, August 30, 2024.

Friends may call on Friday (September 13) from 4 -7 p.m., at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham. A funeral service will be held on Saturday (September 14) at 12 p.m. at the Rushville Congregational Church. Burial will be in Rushville Cemetery.

Susan was born on May 10, 1974, the first born daughter of Pamela Landcastle and the late Gary Scott. Growing up mainly in Rushville, N.Y. and graduating from Marcus Whitman High School, class of 1992. Susan went on to attend FLCC where she obtained her Associates Degree in Theatre. She was student director and treasurer of the Theatre Club. Susan appeared in many plays through her college career such as Roomers, Undertow, Murder by the Book, The Invisible Dragon, Mouse Trap and she acted as the Rabbit in a Winnie and the Pooh Production. Susan's college friend described her as an impulsive conservative, liberated romantic realist with a penchant for going "willy-nilly" from one accent to another. Susan didn't end up on the Big Stage in NYC, but she did end up playing the biggest roll, being a mother to the 3 loves of her life. She had a full day to day life with her children. She had them in many extra curricular activities, from dance to karate and baseball, she always filled their lives with something fun. Susan loved planning big trips for her son and two daughters and over the top parties for them and her three nephews, taking numerous pictures of the festivities. Susan was the memory picture taker for all her extended family gatherings as well. She was always loved being behind the camera.

Susan also obtained her associate degree in Human Services while being a full time mom and working at Seneca Nursing and Rehab in the activities department. Susan always put her kids first and when her son started going to Midlakes Education Center, Susan followed him and started working at the High School Cafeteria and worked there for 6 years. Susan's life centered around her children and she loved them more than anything and would do anything for them. Susan fought hard for over three and half years. She fought cancer how she lived her life with unwavering strength and determination. Susan will be deeply missed and truly never forgotten.

Susan is survived by her children, Paige Scott, Paxton Scott and Allyana Scott Grabbatin; her mother, Pamela Landcastle; sister, Genevieve (Chris) Martin; nephews, Aric Scott, Richard Dimon and Christgen Martin; and her grandfather Jamie Landcastle; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Susan was predeceased by her father, Gary Scott; her grandmother, Janet Landcastle; and her great-grandmother, Dorothy Landcastle.
