Thomas Wellin Obituary
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday (September 15) at the Interlaken Reformed Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Interlaken Reformed Church or Lifetime Care (Hospice of Wayne & Seneca Counties).
Born on March 9, 1952, Tom graduated from South Seneca High School in 1970 and attended Delhi Technical School. He worked as a contractor and operated his own contracting business for many years. Tom served many years as chairman for the Republican Committee for the Town of Covert. A lifelong lover of the outdoors, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family at their camp on Interlaken Beach.
Tom is survived by his wife of 42 years, Lauri Burlew; daughter, Sarah (James) Oppedisano; son, Luke (Jamee Hageman) Wellin; grandchildren, Angel, Ella, Liam, Thomas, and Mira; and brother, Stephen Ovecka.
He is predeceased by his parents Frederick and Irene Wellin, and his beloved dog Indy.

My heart is saddened to read this. Laurie, Luke & Jaymee, Tom touched the hearts of anyone that knew him even if it was short term friendships. I so enjoyed Tom and all of you playing Euchre. I am so glad we got to spend fun time together and that I got to meet such a loving man. Prayers for you all. I won't be there because we now live in Alabama, but you are in my thoughts & prayers. Tom and I spent many hours together at the "Beach" in our high school days and he even taught me how to water ski behind his 14 foot aluminum boat with a 18 hp Evenrude. My thoughts and prays are with you all and I'm certain that Tom is at the best fighing hole in Heaven right now.

Lauri, Sarah and Luke (and families), Even though I haven't see you in many, many years I remember having fun watching the kids and I had fun getting to know your family.
