Wesley Scott Paddock

PENN YAN FORMERLY OF FAIRPORT - (January 23, 2012) at age 91.
Friends may greet the family at the Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home, Egypt location, 7501 Pittsford-Palmyra Road, Fairport. Thursday, (January 26) from 4 to 7. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Michael's Church in Penn Yan, Saturday (January 28) at 11 a.m.
Donations in Wes' name are encouraged to the Memory Care Unit at the Friendly Home, 3156 East Avenue, Rochester, N.Y., 14618.
Wes graduated from Lima High School (1938) and Springfield College (1948) where he played on the varsity basketball team. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. Coach Paddock began his teaching and coaching career in Delanson, N.Y. and then in North Rose before coming to Fairport in 1953. Wes and Peg, the love of his life and wife of 65 years, raised their family in Fairport where Wes coached the varsity basketball team for many years, as well as varsity baseball, soccer and golf during his long career at Fairport. He was selected in the Inaugural Class of the Wall of Distinction of Fairport Educators (along with Peg) and was highly respected as a teacher, coach, and member of the Fairport community for many years. Upon retirement in 1976 Wes and Peg moved to their home on Keuka Lake, where they split time with their home in Vero Beach, Florida. Wes and Peg also enjoyed dancing to the music of Glenn Miller and continued to do so up until the final years of Wes' long and wonderful life. The family would like to express their appreciation for the staff of the Friendly Home for their loving care of our father for the last 5 years of his life.
Survived by wife, Margaret (Cleary); sister, Thelma (Horan); three sons, Jonathan (Tammy), David (Theresa) and Timothy (Kim); grandchildren, Jacob, Etta and Corinne; great-grandchildren, Wesley, Seamus, Killian and Lydia; many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Predeceased by father, Edward and mother Mabel; as well as brother, Destin; and infant daughter, Mary.
