William Scott Case

NEWARK - William Scott Case, age 62, of Cataula, GA, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2025 at his residence.

Mr. Case was born December 9, 1962, in Newark, N.Y., the son of Janice L. Kommer Case and the late William H. Case. He retired from the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant, after twenty-one years, which included service in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Desert Storm. Following his military career, he worked a number of years as a Range Control Safety Supervisor at Ft. Benning, GA. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and especially adored being with his grandchildren.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Marie Case; a daughter, Billie Jo Case; and a brother, Todd Case.

He is survived by his mother, Janice Case of Newark, N.Y.; three children, Ashley Buck (Wilson) of Waverly Hall, GA, Janice Valentine (Brandon) of Cataula, GA, and William Scott Case, Jr., of Cataula; two brothers, Matthew Case (Lisa) of Newark, N.Y., and Kevin Case (Vie) of Canandaigua, N.Y.; grandchildren, Colin Hubbard of Kaukauna, Wisconsin, Kayleigh Hubbard of Pella, Iowa, Casey Buck of Waverly Hall, Brantley Valentine of Cataula, Catherine Buck of Waverly Hall, Roxanne Case and William Case III both of Columbus, GA, and Corbin Valentine of Cataula.

A graveside memorial service with full military honors will be held 12:30 p.m. EST on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, AL.
