CLIFTON SPRINGS - William Charles Walp, "Bill", 88 of Clifton Springs, N.Y. passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on November 7, 2024 at the Clifton Springs Nursing Home.

Bill was born in North Tonawanda, N.Y. to the late Charles and Gertrude(Conley) Walp.

He retired from P&C Food Markets after 46 years as Produce Manager. Bill was also a Courier for the Clifton Springs, Manchester and Shortsville, N.Y. Post Offices for 18 years. He served as the museum treasurer for 17+ years and was instrumental in forming the society and acquiring their charter from N.Y.S.

Bill enjoyed many summers with his family at his seasonal home in Piseco N.Y., in the Adirondack Mountains. Nature was a special love for Bill, as he would often be kayaking, canoeing, and leading others on hikes to explore various waterfalls and mountain tops.

He has three Grandsons Kevin(Shelby)Kennedy Jr, David(Jessika) Kennedy, Kyle Gietler; four Great-Grandchildren: Mason, Emma, Austin, Kati Kennedy and several nieces and nephews.

Bill was predeceased by his siblings, John (Rosemary) Walp, Alice (Edward) Pietrowski, and Charles Walp.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff at the Clifton Springs Nursing Home who cared for Bill.

At Bill's request, there will be no calling hours. A celebration of life service will be planned at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Clifton Springs Historical Society.

Bill will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by family and friends for his positive outlook on life, his constant smile, and indelible mark he left on all who knew him.
