Wyatt Kevin Earp IV obituary

Wyatt Earp Obituary

CHARLOTTE,NC/WATERLOO - Wyatt Earp IV, 61, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at his home, after a long illness. Keeping with his wishes there will be no calling hours.

Kevin was born on February 20, 1964, in Newfane, N.Y., the son of Leland and Ellen Earp. He graduated from Waterloo High School in 1982.

If you knew Kevin/Wyatt, you knew he had a huge heart for helping everyone and anyone. His passion for life and racing led him to change his legal name to Wyatt Earp IV, in 1998. (After our famous relative Wyatt Earp) Wyatt did this because if you are going to go "BIG", it was about your image. Racing snowmobile's at a very young age, along with his dad and mom. Later racing Dirt Modified's and then the NASCAR series. Known for his unique paint designs/schemes and flare. He definitely lived up to the "FLARE", in every aspect of his life.

Wyatt was an entrepreneur owning a Tanning Salon, Limousine Service, Shaffer Collision and the Halo Roof Top Company. He was always dreaming big. One of his proudest inventions/businesses was, Burn-Out Wear. Where his T-shirts were sold on QVC and as event shirts at Major NASCAR events. But his biggest joy in life was the birth of his two children, Maia and Wyatt.

Wyatt is survived by his children, daughter, Maia; and son, Wyatt; mother, Ellen Earp; brother, Lee (Patti) Earp; sister, Chris (Joe) Ennis. As well as many nieces, nephews and amazing friends.

Wyatt was pre-deceased by his father, Leland W Earp and sister, Kathy.
In continuing with Wyatt's passion to help others. Help the children of our community with donations, in his memory, to: Trevor's Gift, c/o Linda Wadhams, 66 Virginia St., Waterloo, NY, 13165

A celebration of life will be held in his honor, at a later time.

So sorry to all his friends and family, especially his mother Ellen and his children, who I'm sure feel the loss of his presence the most. Wyatt you were so very important to me for many years, many years ago. Hearing news like this makes it seem like it was just yesterday. You were Kevin when I first met you, our lives went in different directions for a while and then our paths crossed again and you were now Wyatt. One of my funniest memories of our relationship was the "look" you would give me every time I called you Kevin by mistake. (and sometimes on purpose). You introduced me to the exciting world of Nascar and so proudly presented your idea for BurnOut Wear to me . We managed to make 8 hours at the Buffalo Patent Library "fun". I'm so sorry that you had to go through a long illness, but I'm glad you are now at peace. Praying for your 2 children as they navigate a new normal without you. You have and will always hold a spot in my heart Wyatt Earp.. Love you!! Audrey

Wyatt. I remember when you 5you jumped out of chicken coop window as you thought you were Super Man and could fly. You thought you could do anything and you tried most everything. Your painting of cars was outstanding. I miss your calls everyday to check on the old lady.´ May you Rest In Peace now. Till we meet again.
Love and mis you.

From running up and down the halls at grandma and grandpas, banging on pots and pans to get you to wake up because you were sleeping in, to helping you in the shop with Burn Out Wear, to you letting me stay up past my bedtime to take me to the newest released movie at the theater, to you being a sense of home when NY was too far for me to go on a weekend in college. I'm so thankful for the wonderful memories I have with you. Forever the "fun" uncle!! love Jessie

Hi I actually did the paperwork for Wyatt when changed his name to Wyatt Earp. I worked for Attorney Clark Cannon at the time. Wyatt was a great guy. It's going back a ways but I think myself and a couple of my friends stayed at Wyatt's place when we went to a Nascar race down south (can't remember where that was though) a long time ago.
I'm so sorry for your loss.
Believe it or not I was just talking about him the other day.
