Joan Stuen Obituary

Joan Barbara Stuen, age 90, formerly of Forest Lake, MN and Yankton, SD, passed away on March 19, 2025 at her home in North Branch surrounded by her family.

Joan is preceded in death by husband, Glenn; daughter, Leisa Joan Magnuson-Slama; son, Christopher Stuen; son-in-law, Leo Slama; parents, William W. and Johanna B. Merrigan Jr.; siblings, Richard Merrigan, Hyacinth "Connie" Freeman.

Joan will be deeply missed by daughter, Cynthia Stuen; sons, Emanuel EC (Shelley) Stuen and Thomas (Mary) Stuen; daughter-in-law, Carrie Ennenga; 11 grandchildren, Katie Stuen, Benjamin Magnuson, William Magnuson, Matt Slama, Tommy Lee Stuen, Taylor Stuen, Kallie Miska, Alexandra Stuen, Cassandra Stuen, Zachary Stuen and Jonathan Vinge; great grandchildren, Carl Magnuson and JaShaun Miska; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Joan was an artist and loved to paint. She worked as a hair stylist and operated an in-home beauty shop in Forest Lake.

A private family graveside service will be held to honor Joan.
