Allen Hammond Obituary

Allen Lenwood Hammond, age 73, of Cumming, died on Thursday, January 17, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, Len G. and Thelma Hammond, and grandson, Jacob Benjamin Hammond.
Allen comes from a long line of descendants from Hammonds Crossing. He loved spending time with his son and grandchildren. He was known as g-daddy. He was a good friend of Bill W's for 37 years. He was a proud owner of The Hammond Mortgage. He was a vivid vintage car lover. He loved to work in the yard and mow the grass. He was proud of working at Rockwell International.
Survivors include his wife, Bettina Hammond of Cumming; son, Bart Hammond of Cumming; granddaughters, Brittanee Hammond, Bethany Hammond; great grandchildren, Lillee Hammond, Lauren Hammond, Carson Couch; brother and sister-in-law, Roger Davie and Hilda Hammond of Cumming; and a number of other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 20, at Coal Mountain Baptist Church with Dr. Steve Brown officiating. Remains will be placed in State at Coal Mountain Baptist Church at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow in Coal Mountain Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 – 9 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to United Way of Forsyth County/Boys and Girls Club, P. O. Box 1350, Cumming, GA 30028.
