Fred Carl Obituary

Fred Carl II, 83, peacefully passed away at 10 pm on September 25, 2017, with his wife Rose and Grandson, Chris and Wife Mariah at his side.
Fred was preceded in death by his loving grandparents, Wells and Clarinda Green, his parents, Fred Carl I and Ann (Green), and Sister, Nancy all of Delaware.
He is also survived by his children Leslie (Kerry) Clabots of Illinois, Fred Carl III (Hiroko) of Michigan, John Carl (Kristen) of California, Todd Wilson (Anna) of Virginia, Mark Wilson (Kim) of Florida, and Susan Mullins (Andy) of Florida. Mr. Carl is also survived by 15 grandchildren.
Fred grew up in Wilmington, Delaware, sharing many fun, happy and mischievous adventures with his friends, especially Jack and Gerry Sanderson. Fred spent his High School years at Fishburne Military School in Virginia which were wonderful fun filled years where he enjoyed sports, and being Captain of the school band and especially his many, many trips to Fairfax Hall (Girls prep school) across town disregarding the many demerits he would receive. Upon graduation, he would not hesitate to tell you that it only took him one semester to flunk out of the University of Delaware! At that point Fred enlisted into the US Army proudly serving the United States of America. With the GI Bill in hand, Fred enrolled at Michigan State University, majoring in Hotel Management and Girls and never once allowed his education to interfere with having fun! He actually received his degree in 1961. Fred retired after 30 years with the US Chamber of Commerce in Washington DC followed by a second retirement from the Florida, State Chamber of Commerce.
Honoring Fred's request and desire, a private family celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
Fred was an avid reader and constant visitor of the Sharon Forks Library, and in lieu of flowers, the family requests you would make a contribution in his name to the Sharon Forks Library at 2820 Old Atlanta Road, Cumming, Ga 30041. Kind Thanks from his family.

Rose, you probably won't remember me but I had the privilege of meeting you years ago. A group of us played cards just about every Wednesday and Saturday and Fred always talked about you, he really loved you. The card game broke up a few years ago and we really missed Fred. He had the best stories. So sorry for your loss. Please know that our little group is mourning with you.
