Ruth Rider Obituary
Ruth and her husband of 71 years, Eugene William Rider, lived in Roswell for many years before moving to Cumming. She was a member of Coal Mountain Baptist Church. Ruth enjoyed a career with Southern Mills and the City of Roswell. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her husband, Ruth is survived by her children, James E. (Gail) Rider of Cumming, Richard D. (Shirley) Rider of Cumming; brothers, Clay Esco of Cumming, Basil (Sylvia) Esco of Roswell; grandchildren, Greg (Jenny) Rider, Kim Rider, Shelby (Ryan) Gober, Genia (Marty) Standridge and Rick (Logan) Rider, all of Cumming; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Oct. 21, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of McDonald and Son Funeral Home, with the Rev. Danny Bennett officiating. Interment will be at Georgia National Cemetery Tuesday, Oct. 23, at 1 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, Oct. 20, from 5-7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Embracing Hospice House, 8013 Majors Road, Cumming, GA 30041 or to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
