Betty Cross Obituary

Betty Jean Cross,86 longtime area resident, died, Saturday, December 3, 2016 at her home north of Fort Morgan. Betty was born July 27, 1930 in Grant County, Oklahoma to Otto and Christine Unbehauen. She married Ronald A. Cross on June 26, 1951in Baltimore, Maryland. She and Ron moved to this area in 1953 from Maryland. Betty was a beautician and volunteered at Eben-Ezer in Brush, by fixing ladies' hair at no charge. She also helped out on their dryland farm south of Fort Morgan. In her earlier years, Betty was a member of the 1st Christian Church in Fort Morgan, and was also a charter member of the Does at the Elks Club in Fort Morgan. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, and cooking. She liked to share her cooking with others and would take food she prepared to people who were maybe sick or just because she thought they would like it. Betty is survived by her husband Ron of Fort Morgan, daughter, Ronda Dill (Doug) of Fort Morgan, sisters, Phyllis Kay of Martinez, Georgia, LaWanda Tebow (Lyle) of Enid, Oklahoma and Marilyn Ballard (John) of Brackettville, Texas, four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Rodney, and her parents. Memorial Services will be Thursday, December 8, 2016 at 10:30 am at The Sanctuary in Fort Morgan. Services will conclude at the church.

Ron, I am so sorry to hear of Betty's passing....I loved seeing and working with her at the fair and talking with her on the phone. I think of you two so often when I think of my dad's Adobe house and of the times we took him there to see it. Thank you both for your friendship with my parents over the years. She will be missed. May God's blessings rest on you. I will be praying for your family tomorrow. We live in Arizona now and can't be at the service, but we will be there in spirit. Julie (Rigli) Frink
