Carol Rogers Obituary

Carol Diane Rogers, 66, died Friday, July 27, 2012, at her home in Wiggins after a lengthy illness.

She was born December 16, 1945 in Beaver, OK, to Claxton and Daisy (Wall) Duvall. She attended first through sixth grade in a one-room schoolhouse in Wild Horse, CO, and then graduated from Kit Carson High School.

Carol married William Rogers in Kit Carson on October 29, 1965.

Carol taught second grade at Wiggins school for 31 years. Teaching was her greatest passion.

She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Wiggins. She also belonged to the churches Altar & Rosary Society. Carol enjoyed reading, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, William Rogers of Wiggins; her mother, Daisy Duvall of Cheyenne Wells, CO; her son, Frank Rogers and his wife, Sandy, of Greenville, SC; her daughter, Shari Remmenga and her husband, Greg, of Grand Junction; her brother, Gene Duvall of Seibert, CO, and her 6 grandchildren.

Carol was preceded in death by her father.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, August 2, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Wiggins. A Rosary Vigil will precede the service at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be in Kit Carson Cemetery on Thursday at 3:00 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to the scholarship fund at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
