Theresa Reagan

1918 - 2014

Theresa Mary Reagan, 95, of Ft. Morgan passed away at Hendick Hospice in Abilene, TX on August 18, 2014. Theresa was born September 16, 1918 in a sod house in Weldona, CO to Michael Lugi Caneva and Nellie Trettenero Caneva. She grew up and attended school in Snyder, CO. She graduated from High School there in May 1937. She then attended Success Business College in Denver, CO and then began working for the Morgan County Public Welfare Department. She continued working there until receiving a transfer and promotion to the El Paso County Public Welfare office in Colorado Springs. Following she worked as Assistant Secretary of Denver Bureau of Social Services. In September 1945 she married LeRoy "Rocky" Reagan. After his Army service they returned to Ft. Morgan where Mrs. Reagan worked for the Morgan County Clerks Office, the Morgan County Assessor, and The Great Western Sugar Company. In 1956 Theresa began working for Ft. Morgan High School and in 1971 she transferred to the Ft. Morgan School District administration offices. She remained working there until she retired in 1986. Theresa was a member of St. Helena Catholic Church in Ft. Morgan , CO . She was also a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Post 2551. She was also active in local, state, and national Secretarial organizations serving as a member and as an officer at the local and state level. Theresa Reagan is survived by her daughter, Patricia Church, granddaughter, Brittany Blanton, and three great-granddaughters, Patricia, Samantha, and Rennick Blanton, all of Abilene, TX. She is also survived by one brother Raymond Caneva, his wife Clara both of Phoenix, AZ, sister in law Bonnie Caneva of Fort Morgan, CO, and several nieces and nephews. Theresa is preceded in death by her mother, father, and husband "Rocky". She was also preceded in death by her sister Margaret "Caneva" Kammerer, brother E.L. "John" Caneva, and foster brother Jim Spanevello. There will be a visitation on Thursday, August 21, 2014 from 4 until 6 pm followed by a Rosary Vigil which will start at 6:00 pm.at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Ft. Morgan. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, August 22, 2014 at 10:30 am at Saint Helena's Catholic Church in Ft. Morgan. Interment will be in Memory Gardens. Friends who wish may make cash donations in her memory to the organization of their choice.
