AARON STONE Obituary

AARON MICHAEL STONE, 18, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2017, after living fully and joyfully in spite of a relentless cancer. He was born in Fort Wayne on Oct. 9, 1998. He began drumming as soon as he could toddle, first on the family pots and pans, later on drum sets with his band. He learned the values of teamwork and respect in his younger years playing baseball. He had a quick wit, a ready smile, and an exhaustive ability to recall even the most obscure South Park quotes. As a typical teenager, he enjoyed movies, music, pop culture and video games. As an atypical teenager, he possessed wisdom beyond his years and graciousness in the face of struggle. Surviving are his parents, Mike and LouAnn Stone; brother, Sam Stone; grandmother, Ann Baltenberger; grandparents, Kirby and Rita Stone; many aunts, uncles and cousins; good friends, Brady Harkness, Carson Cox, Matt Dunlap, and Matthew Killham. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Chester Baltenber-ger; aunt, BerBer; and cousin, Melanie. A Celebration of Life is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2017, at Sweetwater Auditorium, with officiating Pastors Christen Pettit Miller and Nikki Shaw. Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2017, at Peace United Church of Christ. Private family burial will take place in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Little Wish Foundation in Indianapolis. Arrangements by D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls. I am late in expressing sympathy in Aaron's passing. You all fought for so long to help him overcome his illness. I didn't know Aaron personally but was aware of the changes. You are facing this loss with a faithful strength. God be with you as he welcomes Aaron.

My deepest sympathy to Aaron's family and friends. May God give everyone grace and comfort and peace.
I am a friend of Ann's from the Breckinridge Inn pool where I see her and talk to her in the Summer.

Aaron and I never met, but he was a community member in a colts fan group that I help moderate. A couple months ago he posted about his amazing experience with the franchise where he met some members of the organization, and his post was quickly praised and embraced by the community. We were deeply saddened to hear about his passing, but we wanted you to know that Aaron had a positive impact on our community and we all mourn his loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Met him only once, but he left quite an impression on me. You could tell he was a man of character and a very special person.

Louann, Mike and Sam ,
I am heartbroken to hear about Aaron. The Stone boys were by far my easiest clients as children , Aaron always had a smile on his face and if those cowlicks were bothering him it was fine , just shave it all off . You are all in my thoughts and prayers, and I am praying for the strength you will need to get through this . I miss you all and am so happy to see the support you have had through this journey , it takes a village for sure to get through such a tragedy . Rock on Aaron , you will be missed sweet boy.

We didn't personally know Aaron but would keep up on him and his illness through the church news letter.
Your whole family put up one heck of a fight.
May you take comfort knowing he is no longer in pain and is probably making music with the other angels.

Mike, LouAnn and Sam,
Aaron was one special kid! He always had something funny to say even when you could tell he was not feeling well. I always loved listening to Zach telling stories of Aaron from travel baseball and overnights with the guys. The entire Schwartz family is lucky to have known him and will cherish those memories! God Bless.

Aaron was the sweetest kid and always had the biggest smile on his face. It's awful to see him go... But whenever you needed someone to cheer you up he would be there to make you laugh or to cry with you. His sense of humor made everyone laugh with his jokes and his personality. Sending prayers your way!

Aaron was an amazing person and made the world a better place by being in it. He always made me laugh, especially through his writing. He once called Nathaniel Hawthorne "Nate" in a formal essay and I've never forgotten it - Aaron had a style and sense of humor that can't be recreated. His passion for music was incredible, and I know he was well loved by his friends at school. Sending well wishes to his family and friends throughout this difficult time.

My heart brakes with the passing of one of my baseball boys. I will always remember Aaron as a fun loving kid that had an eternal smile. Great memories from Don Ayres baseball and YMCA Cubs trips. I remember Aaron winning a team award for the most pieces of gum at one time. I would have taken 9 Aaron Stones and put them on the baseball field because we would have a great time and be successful. Your light will shine forever in my heart.
