Andrew Skradski Obituary

ANDREW C. SKRADSKI, 92, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2003, at Kingston Residence. Born in Kansas City, Kan., he was a Captain in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, an Engineer with Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Mr. Skradski attended St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fort Wayne and was a member of the Kansas State University President's Club, Kansas City Catbackers, Older Adult Volunteer Corps of the West Central Ministry, Croatian Fraternal Union Lodge 35, and a graduate of Kansas State University, where he played Varsity baseball and basketball. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and the Rev. Dr. Hal Thomas of Fort Wayne; grandson, Geoffrey Thomas of Fort Wayne; granddaughter, Kim Brown Sims of Winters, Calif.; and great-granddaughter, Mikenna Sims of Winters, Calif. He was preceded in death by wife, Ann, in 1998. Calling is from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday with a 7:30 p.m. Vigil Service at Mungovan and Sons Memorial Chapel, 2114 S. Calhoun St., Fort Wayne. Mass of Christian Burial is Tuesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Kansas City, Kan. Burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Kansas City, Kan. Memorials to Ahearn Athletic Scholarship Fund at KSU or the West Central Neighborhood Ministry 35th Anniversary Fund.
