SR. ANGELITA M. FENKER

SR. ANGELITA M. FENKER, 83, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at Hospice Home, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, Sr. Angelita was a religious Sister and educator with various educational and ecumenical organizations in the U.S and Canada for 60 years, retiring in 2007. She started her ministry in 1947, earned Bachelors degrees in education and family studies from University of Saint Francis and Purdue University. She was an elementary teacher, principal and director of religious education in Missouri, Louisiana and Indiana. She earned her Masters degree in education administration from Marquette University. From 1973 to 1990, served as the National Associate Director of Families for Prayer, Inc, of Albany, N.Y. Earned her doctorate degree in spirituality and family spirituality from the Graduate Theological Foundation. She had written many articles in Today's Catholic and was the author of three books on Eldering Spirituality. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, National Family Life Ministers, and Sisters for Christian Community. Surviving are her brothers, Frank J. Fenker Jr. of Fort Wayne and Daniel E. (Judy) Fenker of Portland, Ore.; sisters, Dolores (Harold) Wolford of Evansville, Ind. and Barbara (Frank) Juhasz of Edon, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank F. and Mary E. Fenker; sisters, Janet Lindley and Marilyn Fenker. Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, with calling one hour prior. Fr. Bob Klemme, Fr. Wayne Ureel, Fr. David Meinzen, Fr. Dale Bauman, Fr. Dan Durkin, Deacon Jim Kitchens, and Deacon John Hilger officiating. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, with a Rosary at 4:30 p.m. and a Trisagion service with incense at 8:30 p.m. Burial in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
