For a semester, maybe two, he taught me Russian history and I use that basis every day to write observations on the war the Russians are waging against the Ukrainians. He taught me well, he taught to me to seek more and to think about what I had learned.

What a great guy. He was my professor for Russian history in the 70s and he left an indelible mark in my mind. He fairly bubbled with ideas, comments, thoughts, insights, asides and nuggets. What a wonderful man.
