Barbara Bailey Obituary

Barbara Sue Bailey, 81, passed away while she was surrounded by her family on August 8, 2024, Born in Melvin, Kentucky, Barbara was a daughter of the late Boyd and Stella (Newsome) Thornsbury. She worked in the Ivy Tech Library for 25 years. Barbara was a member of First Assembly Church of God. She enjoyed tending to her garden and flowers, doing work search puzzles, reading, and spending many years at her lake cottage. Barbara cherished all the memories made with her husband, children, and grandchildren up at the lake. Surviving are her sons, Tom (Debbie) Bailey, Gregory Bailey; grandchildren, Kierstin (Quinn) Kumfer, Brenton (Ashley) Bailey, Jayme (Grace) Bailey, Dillon Bailey, Tyler (Austin Dunithan) Bailey; great-grandchildren, Kaysleigh, Cal, Mya, Wyatt, Waylon, Aurora; siblings, Denny (Opal) Thornsbury and Sandy (Mike) Maloney. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, James Bailey in 2022; siblings, Carlos, Benny, Ish, and Buster Thornsbury, Betty Darty, and Rosalie Issac. Funeral Service is 11 am, Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street, with calling one hour prior. Calling also at the funeral home on Monday, August 12, 2024 from 4 pm to 8 pm. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Memorials may be made to First Assembly Church of God.
