Bessie Rickman Obituary

BESSIE L. RICKMAN, 97, of Fort Wayne, formerly of Wabash, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009, 3:45 a.m., at Glenn Brook Rehab Center of Fort Wayne. Born April 17, 1911, in Clanton, Ala., she was the daughter of the late Mose Davis and Minnie (Dejernette) Davis. She was a maid in peoples homes throughout the community for many years. She married Orville Rickman in 1960, in Wabash; he preceded her in death. She was a member of Erie Street Freewill Baptist Church, Wabash and Wabash County Red Cross. Surviving are her nephews, John and Margarette Davis of Fort Wayne and James Davis of Springfield, Ohio; and brother, Mose Davis Jr. of Los Angeles, Calif. She was also preceded in death by five brothers and one sister. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Thursday at Mc Donald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Ave., Wabash, with calling one hour prior. Pastor Bill Bowling officiating. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mcdonaldfunerals. com
