BRADLEY BROWN Obituary

BRADLEY W. BROWN, 59, Fort Wayne, passed away Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021, just one month shy of his 60th birthday. He spent the last seven months of his life fighting the horrible disease of lung cancer, the silent killer. If there was one thing Brad would have changed about his life, two years short of retirement, was lighting that first cigarette. Brad was the son of the late David Brown and Sandra (Bowman) Brown; she survives. He was born in Fort Wayne on Dec. 20, 1961, and graduated from South Side High School in 1980. After high school, he joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in South Korea. Once returning to the States, Brad settled into working 25-plus years at Northeastern REMC. He was a single father, raising his three kids on his own. Brad was a simple man who loved the simple pleasures of his life. He loved his weekends at the lake, his Colts football, his family and above all else he fiercely loved his four grandkids. Brad leaves behind his children, Amanda (Joe) Chase, Jeremy Brown and Chrissy (Jay Smith) Nagel; his grandchildren, Aiden Chase, Cooper Nagel and Liberty Smith. He also had three loving sisters, Susan (Kim) Stewart, Lisa (Steve) Cushing and Kelly (Randy) Powell. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Erma Brown, and Ralph and Pat Bowman; and grandson, Uriyah Brown. A casual celebration of Brad's life is from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021, at Midwest Funeral Home & Cremation Society, 1415 W. Coliseum Blvd. There will be a military honors service at 3:30 p.m. The family is requesting no flowers please, however donations can be made to the Ronald McDonald House of Northwest Indiana, 11109 Parkview Plaza, Fort Wayne (IN 46845) in Brad's name. The family would also like to thank Parkview Cancer Institute and Parkview Hospice for the care and kindness that they provided for Brad.
