BRENDA KAY OCHOA, 64, of Fort Wayne, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind. Born Feb. 6, 1957, at St. Joseph Hospital, Brenda was a nurse at Lutheran Hospital prior to retiring after 39 years of service. "She fully experienced life, loved her family, and spending time with them. She loved traveling, camping, and you'd seldom find her without a book in her hand. She was kind, caring, and loving. She touched the hearts of everyone that knew her, and her sense of humor was contagious. She was a loving wife, a wonderful mother, a caring sister, and the THE BEST grandma." Brenda is survived by her husband, Richard; sons, Aaron (Carrie) Ochoa and Nathan Ochoa; stepdaughters, Rachelle (Gene) Hall and Noel Ochoa; grandsons, Brandon (Shyenne) Hall and AJ Ochoa, and granddaughter, Kayla Hall; sisters, Cary (Shawn) McDaniel, Pam Bell; brother, Steve Wade. Brenda also had several stepbrothers and stepsisters. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Wade and Elizabeth Krontz; sister, Dianne Mercer; and grandson Jacob Ochoa. Funeral Service is 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, 2021, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., with calling one hour prior. Visitation also from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2021, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Humane Fort Wayne in her name.
