CHRISTINA LANDRIGAN Obituary

CHRISTINA MAUREEN LANDRIGAN, 29, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016. Born in Fort Wayne, Christy was a 2005 graduate of Homestead High School. She had worked as a Securities Consultant with Lincoln Financial Advisors for the past four years. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Young Leaders of Northern Indiana (YLNI), volunteered at NeighborLink and the Downtown Improvement District, and was a former member of the Fort Wayne Junior League. Christy was passionate about her family, helping others, and improving the Fort Wayne community. She loved gardening, cooking, visiting Fort Wayne establishments, sharing her love of Fort Wayne, having sleepovers with and reading books to her niece and nephews, jazz and 90's rap and hip hop, karaoke, playing Rock Band, winning at Mario Kart (she hated losing), and going on road trips. Christy will also be remembered for putting others before herself, giving the best hugs and advice, speaking French with her sister, being fashion forward, relating to any type of person and befriending everyone she met. She was very smart, kind, beautiful, goofy, loving and funny, loved playing board games and card games with her family and friends, and mixing fancy cocktails to share. She also enjoyed terrible jokes and proper grammar (Sorry!) and calling her dad "Pops" and "Papa." She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend and will be greatly missed by so many. Surviving are her parents, Michael and Rebecca Landrigan; siblings, Joseph (Kayle) Landrigan, Cara (Joshua Torres) Landrigan, Brian Landrigan, Kevin Landrigan, and David Landrigan, all of Fort Wayne; niece and nephews, Gabe, Gianna, Mikey, Drew, and Eli; grandparents, Patrick and Susan Landrigan and Paul and Joan Krieg, all of Fort Wayne; boyfriend, Evan Childers of Fort Wayne; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins whom she loved very much; and countless loving friends. "She is and will always remain His beloved daughter." Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 11, 2016, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 10700 Aboite Center Road, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016, at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, with a Rosary beginning at 7:30 p.m. Burial in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Family is requesting Catholic Masses offered for Christy or donations to the Christina Landrigan Memorial Fund c/o Michael Landrigan. To sign the online guestbook, visit www.domccombandsons.com

Dear Landrigan family,
My daughter, Kristy, called from NJ last Wednesday night to tell me your sad news. We knew Christie from Homestead's Elite choir that both girls were in. The two girls resembled each other and when they wore short wigs with their flapper roaring 20's dresses, I couldn't tell them apart up on stage. My daughter had a request Wednesday night. That I look through boxes of photos to come up with one of Christie so she could see her face one last time. I could only come up with the Elite choir photo in costume for her. I couldn't hold back the tears. Lovely memory.

Reading the various tributes online, and seeing Christie's YouTube videos let us witness what a wonderful person she continued to be after high school. You had to be so proud. Thinking of you every day this past week, I find myself sobbing often. That could be any of us at any given time. The Mass was beautiful. I enjoyed Mr. Landrigan's remarks as well as Christie's sister's stories. It gave us all nice ways to remember her. I have no idea how you are all holding up so well. It was remarkable, as Fr. Jim said. I will continue to pray for you all, even though we have never met. We all have loved ones, and this tragedy is unimaginable. God Bless You all. Rest in Peace, Christie.

I express thanks. As I witness a loving family close a coffin knowing it's the last time they will see the face of their child. As the white cloth was laid and incense lit, I was heavily changed. No one should have to bury a child and a community mourns tears alongside you. Cari Landrigan Michael Landrigan I'm indebted to the Landrigan family for sharing the soul and fragility of life today. Christy lives on.
