1967 - 2022

CHRISTINE R. MEEK, found peace on Monday, April 11, 2022, after a five year battle with cancer. Born Oct. 1, 1967, in Fort Wayne, she spent the majority of her early years in Wood burn, Ind., and graduated from Woodlan High School. Christine continued her education at Indiana - Purdue Fort Wayne, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in English and Communications Media. After working in the Indianapolis area for several years as a manager for Kroger, she returned to Fort Wayne to be closer to family, spending some time as an associate director with the national accounting firm KPMG. She then moved into the non-profit sector with the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne, enjoying nearly 20 years, supporting grant seeking organizations and donors to the foundation as well as assisting in the management of the foundation. Christine also passionately served on the board of directors and as a volunteer for the Black Pine Animal Sanctuary. Christine is survived by her father, John P. Meek of Fort Wayne; mother, Linda Roemke of Fort Wayne; stepfather, Craig Roemke of Fort Wayne; sister, Tara Roemke of Oakland, Calif.; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. A reception welcoming friends and family to celebrate Christine's life is from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Midwest Funeral Home & Cremation Society, 1415 W. Coliseum Blvd., Fort Wayne.
