multiple times through out everyday it seems like everything just comes to a complete stop. Like a speeding truck hitting a wall. Not that your not always in my mind but every thought from the past nearly 2 years and 2 months just comes rushing over me. Makes it hard to breathe for a minute. Then reality sets back in and I know that the clock is still moving, and that truck is still speeding even though the feeling doesnt speed away with it. I miss you more than anything in this world buddy, I love you man

The thing is I usually have something to say at times like this. As a coach and teacher, you try and find some sort of silver lining, something that you can learn from when bad situations occur. The truth is that with Chris's passing I see many. I see that even in his death he has taught us so much. How to have fun and cherish every moment, how to be loving and gentle all while keeping a positive outlook no matter what is going on. He taught us how to laugh (sometimes a little too hard)and in my case he taught me how to be a better all around person. Although I see all of that I am still not ready to fall back on it and realize the finality of Chris being gone. I just can't, not yet. The thing I will always remember is not just about Chris, it is about his relationship that he had with his parents. Ever since I started coaching I have never seen a relationship between child and his parents as strong as what Chris, Sherry and Jim had. They never took each other for granted, you could just see it in each others eyes that the moment they were in was the best moment of their lives. I have never seen such dedication, devotion and love of every moment they had to spend with their child as what Sherry and Jim showed every day that Chris was alive. I am not ready to let go of watching the three of them do just about anything together. I am not ready to stop listening to Chris talk about his older brother like he was the biggest man on campus, and how much he loved to hang out with him. I am so happy that there are so many positive things that has come out of Chris's passing, but I am just not ready to acknowledge them just yet. My heart is still broken for Sherry, Jim, Stephen and selfishly or not, myself.
The thing is I should be able to look at the positive things that have come from this situation and feel better, but I am just not ready to.
I miss you Chris. Thank you for showing me what is truly important in life. I will never forget your laugh or smile. I love you kid.

To the Family of Christopher James Doyle....I learned of what happened to Chris at the Indiana Vector Control Association Conference in Middlebury last March. Because of this tragedy, I have taken the mosquito prevention program to a new level in Montgomery County. The public is so unaware of what can be a real health risk to a community. I'm sorry this happened to you as I have children this age. May God bless you with great memories of Christopher.

As a doc who once helped care for the late David Surine I recently had the opportunity to speak with Mrs. Surine--a close relative of the Doyle family as I understand it--about Chris. I have 2 grandkids (2 and 6 y.o.--one named Chris) and for that reason can possibly begin to understand what the Doyle family has had to go through during the last few months. Good luck with your fundraising and "awareness-raising" efforts in Chris' behalf. City Councilman/Dr. Tom Hayhurst

Jim, Sherry, and Steve,
What a joy it was to have Chris in our home when he was in preschool and kdg. What a great guy!!! He was a parent's dream! He was so easy going and just a lovable person. Jim and Sherry, your love and care for Chris was impeccable! As you walk down the days of the coming year and the "firsts' of not having Chris present, remember that "Life is hard, but God is good". Sometimes we can't explain or understand why or how things happen in life, but we have a loving God who will walk beside us along the difficult paths in life. If you draw close to Him, He will draw close to you. You know our family is here for you. We are keeping you in our prayers.
With love and deep sympathy,

It is so hard for me to express the deep sadness I feel for your family. Faye, Travis, and I are here for you whenever there is a need.
Though I only met Chris a few times, one of Faye and I's fondest memories of him is the first time your family came to our house. Chris and Travis had the cool idea to put the water sprinkler under the trampoline and make the back yard into a mud pit while Chris would spring Travis better than ten fet into the air. There laughter and our smiles were worth all of the laundry detergent and the ruts in the yard that were created by the sinking trampoline. I can feel the ruts when I mow over them to this day. Thanks guys.
The boys had never met prior to that day I do not believe. That is a testament to what a great spirit and personality he had in making new friends with ease.
Sherry, Jim, and Chris....you are in our prayers and hearts.
We love you,

Jim, Sherry,Steven,
I just heard the news tonite, and cried myself to sleep. I loved Chris as if he was my own, and this you know. May he be able to hug and walk with his old buddy Stan, and work together as carpenters, like our lord Jesus did on earth.
From Chris:
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above. Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight. Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night. That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through, God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone. As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on. I need you here badly; you're part of my plan. There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight. God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears. But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain. Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er. I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb; but together we can do it by taking one day at a time. It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too... that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain." And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile, knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind; I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free, remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Jim & Sherry,
I just heard of your loss and my heart broke. We have not been in touch for a very long time but I wanted to make sure that I expressed to you my heart felt sympathy. It is hard to lose someone specially someone so young. I didn't know Chris that well but what I did know I could see that he was a great kid. Words will not take the pain away but time will ease it. Chris will be with you every day, listen to the wind and you will hear him whisper that he is ok and loves you. I am really deeply sorry. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Turn to God for He is holding Chris in His arms right now. God bless you.
Peace,
Kathy Thompson
