David L. Helmrich

DAVID L. HELMRICH, 69, of Decatur, died Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana. Born Dec. 12, 1937, in Decatur, he was the son of Otto Helmrich and Arellia Johnson. He married Florence Gayle Helmrich on Dec. 20, 1958; she died on June 10, 2001. He was a member of Salem United Church of Christ. He worked for Uniroyal Goodrich for 39 years, retiring in 2001. He was a member of Moose Lodge 1311 and former member of U.R.W. Union. Surviving are one son, Troy D. Helmrich of Decatur; two daughters, Laura L. Helmrich of Monroe and Stefani L. Helmrich of Decatur; two sisters, Mrs. Steve (Carol N.) Foster of Mesa, Ariz. and Mrs. Carl (Susan D.) Elliott of Decatur; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a son, Glen A.; and two brothers, Ted P. and H. Glen Helmrich. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday at Haggard & Sefton Funeral Home, Decatur, with visitation one hour prior. The Rev. Jean Carmen officiating.
