David Peters Obituary

David L. Peters, ended his journey through this life on September 14, 2025, at his home with loved ones. David was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on July 24, 1947, son of the late Carl David and Elberta (Beal) Peters. David graduated from North Side High School in 1965; Denison University in 1969; University of Dayton in 1972; and Indiana University School of Law-Bloomington in 1974. David served in the United States Air Force from 1969 to 1972, stationed at the Command Center for the Foreign Technology Division "FTD" of the U. S. Systems Command at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. David was nicknamed "World" by his Denison University SAE fraternity brothers, due to David's worldwide travels. David continued to be a traveler throughout his life visiting destinations in French Polynesia and most of Western Europe. Finding his favorite locations to be Paris and Lake Como, David traveled to both destinations over 30 times, sharing his passion for such locations with close family and dear friends. David truly enjoyed practicing law for 46 years, initially practicing with his late father and later with many talented attorneys. David is survived by his wife, Sharon; sisters, Janine Peters Mendis and Michele Peters-Coville; brothers-in-law, Earl A. Pontius and Asoka Mendis, both of whom were true brothers to David; beloved nieces and nephews; and many dear cousins. David will be remembered for his humor, his dedication to the practice of law, his love for his wife and family, and his passion for exploring the world. David has now left us to continue a new journey and David will be forever missed by all who have had the pleasure of knowing him. Per David's wishes there will be no visitation. My deepest condolences to Sharon and the rest of the family for your loss. I knew about Dave from his sister Janine, a dear friend, and he was indeed a great person who will be missed by those who loved him.
May he rest in peace and may you find comfort in your memories of him.

Sharon: My deepest sympathies for the loss of Dave. While my relationship with you and Dave was not that close, my Dad's (Clarence) relationship with Dave's Dad went back a long time. RIP Dave Peters!
