Donald Easley Obituary

Donald R. Easley, 79, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025, . Born January 20, 1946, in Waco, Texas, to Robert and Vyrene Easley, Donald grew up with a warm spirit, a quick wit, and a love for life. He graduated from Central High School in 1964 and began a career marked by dedication and hard work. He spent 19 years at International Harvester as a tool maker and later worked for Magnavox and Slater Steel.

Donald was known for his great sense of humor, his love of fishing, cooking, and tinkering in his garage, and his appreciation for music. He was a faithful, longtime member of Turner Chapel AME Church, where he served with devotion on the Steward Board, Usher Board, and Trustee Board. He was also an active member of the Sons of Allen men's group, contributing to meaningful community work, and a proud member of the Seeds of Faith Choir.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Vyrene Easley; sisters, Tracie Easley and Janet Easley. Donald leaves to cherish his memory his 2 sons, Marcus Easley, Ashton Easley, his daughter, LaTressa Easley; sister, Georgianna Watkins; brother, Kenneth Easley; 2 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends who will miss his laughter, wisdom, and generous heart. A celebration of Donald's life will be held at Turner Chapel AME Church on Thursday,August 28th at 11:00 am.

Donald was the first smiling face we always saw when we arrived at Turner Chapel, making us feel so welcomed. He was a leader in the Church and will be missed. I know God has his room ready for him in Heaven; they are celebrating Don´s Homecoming.
