DONNA WAGNER Obituary

DONNA J. WAGNER, 81, of Fort Wayne, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2018, at home, with her loving husband by her side. Born April 1, 1937 in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Dague and Ruth Arend. She was a graduate of Purdue University School of Nursing and worked for many years at Parkview Hospital and General Electric as an RN. She was honored by the Allen County Public Library Geneology Dept. for her outstanding research. Donna is survived by her husband of 61 years, Gerald F.; sons, Robert A (Kimberly) Wagner of Fort Wayne, Ind., Kevin E (Cheryl) Wagner of Naperville, Ill. and Timothy L (Lori) Wagner of Grabill, Ind.; daughters, Karen S (Gregory) Couture of Fort Wayne, Ind. and Kimberly A (Larry) Lichtsinn of Leo, Ind.; daughter-in-law, Lori Wagner of Fort Wayne, Ind.; 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Donna was also preceded in death by her son, John J. Wagner; grandchildren, Nathan J. Booker and Sheli A. and Tommy J. Wagner. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018, at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, 7215 St. Joe Rd., with calling one hour prior. Visitation also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2018, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne, with a vigil at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Fondly remembering my childhood buddy.
We rode bikes together (with our dogs in the baskets). We had sleepovers and went to the lake with her family on vacation and she went with mine. She was such a strong and good friend. Even though as adults we drew apart with normal family going each way, we had a wonderful time as kids and I have many good memories of our times together. Donna was a good friend to me.

Donna and I were very close as Children, spending time back and forth from her house to mine and having over-nights. We used to ride our dogs in our bicycle baskets back and forth too. She was a wonderful friend and we had many good times together until up into our teen years. As it goes, people drift apart, but I have many memories and feel so sad that she has passed on, even though it is a better place. God Be with and comfort her family. Sincere sympathy to you all.

My sincere sympathy to the Wagner family, whom I know through my dear friends Tim and Lori. I cannot be there in person, but I am certainly there in my heart and in my prayers. My prayers are with you all for peace and healing, strength and courage, and for your Mom for her eternal rest and reward with Our Lord in His heaven. Her love lives on and flows within you still. We cannot see her, but I trust in the Lord that she can and does see and hear you from her special place. The Wagner ROCK is gone but her memory will always be with us. She had a heart of GOLD. It is very hard for me to remember a time that she was not in our lives. It is hard to put into words how much she meant to everyone. She was the sister I never had. My heart is broken & will never be repaired. She was the most kind, generous & thoughtful person. Even from a distance, she was always with us.
She always managed, no matter what happened. Fond memories, she made me my first straight skirt, she was my confirmation sponsor, my Dad called her his "angel" the list goes on.
