ELAINE UTTERBACK Obituary

ELAINE R. UTTERBACK, 61, of Roanoke, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, 10:30 a.m., at her residence with her dear friend, Winnie at her side following a brave battle against lung disease. Born Feb. 19, 1949, in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of John Leroy and Audrey Elaine (Evans) Pollock. She graduated from Concordia High School. She was a cook at Covington Manor Nursing Center for 19 years, retiring in 2004. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne. She was devoted to her children and grandchildren and loved to read. She is survived by one daughter, Darci (John) Felone of Roanoke; three sons, Max (Lynne) Utterback Jr. of Roanoke, Aaron (Kim Klosowski) Utterback of Huntington, Mark (Stacy) Utterback of Roanoke; six grandchildren, Luke Felone, Aydia Elaine Utterback, Olivia Utterback, Sara Utterback, Alex, and E.V.; four brothers, Bruce (ChloeShi) Pollock of Texas, (twin) John Pollock, Stephen Pollock, and Neil (Sheryl) Pollock, all of Fort Wayne; dear friends, Winnie and Roy Stantz; several nieces and nephews; and ex-husband, Max W. Utterback. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Audra Utterback. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 17, 2011, at Roanoke Memorial Chapel of Deal-Rice Funeral Homes, with calling one hour prior to service. Pastor Dave Adams of Jacob's Well officiating. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan.16 , 2011, at the funeral home. Burial will follow service in Pleasant Chapel United Methodist Cemetery, Roanoke. I have been running around with Elaine's brothers Steve & Neil for at least the last 40 years. I always remember Elaine being a very kind person & I liked her very much; I believe the feeling was mutual. My condolences to her family, Elaine will be greatly missed.
