Last November, Eric approached me outside the polls just after he had voted, calling me by name. I knew him by sight; but, it had been many years since he had sat in my class at Northrop. We talked and caught up for a few minutes during which, Eric's personality sank back into my conscience. He was always like that.....commanding but gentle, expressive but disciplined, dominant and yet humble.

Eric spoke of his work and career. He told me he was daddy to his sweet little twins (a girl and a boy). We discovered the twins attended the same school as my own little grandchildren. I could tell how much he loved his family. What a rare individual to be able to convey that.

I am so sorry for knowing you all will miss him sorely. May God give freely His wisdom and comfort to each of you. May you all rest assured that Eric is with his Savior.

Deb, my heart breaks for you. I remember when you and your boys lived here in the Village of North Oak, the boys were maybe early teens. Your boys meant the world to you. So sorry to hear of this tragic loss for you, and Eric's family. So thankful he has children, your grandchildren, that you can enjoy seeing grow up through the years, as they reflect the eyes and characteristics of Eric., through who he will still always be with you. Praying for God's strength and comfort for all of you in the days ahead.

Eric's voice could intimidate but also could comfort. His size could intimidate but could also reassure. Man I knew love life it's very unfortunate that his was cut short but apparently the good Lord needed his strength elsewhere. He will be deeply missed.

Ive know Eric since High School, worked along side him with the ACPDR.Down these mean streets a man must go, who himself is not mean, who is neither tarnished or afraid.
