ERWIN P. MUELLER

ERWIN P. MUELLER, 92, beloved husband and father, passed away Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020. Born on Jan. 15, 1928 in Normal, Ill., he was the son of the late Fred and Johanna Mueller. He graduated from Heyworth, Ill. High School and Worsham College of Mortuary Science. He married Marjorie Densow at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Algoma, Wis. on Sept. 24, 1949, and served in the U.S. Army in Korea during the Korean War. After his military service, he elected to leave mortuary science for federal service with the U.S. Postal Service and was subsequently appointed U.S. Postal Inspector serving in several Midwestern states for 32 years until his retirement. He was later employed by the Allen County Prosecutor for a period of seven years. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 47, National Association of Retired Postal Inspectors, and National Association of Active and Retired Federal Employees. He is survived by his wife of 71 years; three daughters, Jane (Robert) Dannhausen of Fort Wayne, Jennifer (Michael) Aspy of Carmel, Ind. and Jill Hawley of Sarasota, Fla.; and three grandchildren, Chris Dannhausen, Madeline (Paul) Schiffman, and Sydney Hawley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by both sisters, Helen Toepke and Gertrude Jacobs. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020, at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will take place in Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne.
