Douglas “Doug” Mueller, 66, of Noblesville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. Born on September 21, 1959, in Indianapolis to Martin and Glenna (Funk) Mueller, Doug lived a life shaped by loyalty, tradition, and a steady presence for the people he loved.

Lake Tippecanoe was Doug’s happiest place on earth. It held some of his earliest and most cherished memories—summers spent there as a boy with his mom, running free with friends and immersed in the simple joy of lake life. That love endured throughout his life. Over the years, Doug shared the lake with his family, creating new memories with his children and later his grandchildren, passing down not just a place, but a deep sense of comfort, belonging, and home.

Doug valued a small, meaningful circle, and few relationships mattered more to him than those with his Delta Chi fraternity brothers. These were lifelong friendships—brothers in every sense—cherished for nearly 50 years and grounded in loyalty, shared history, and mutual respect.

If you spent any amount of time with Doug, chances are the television was tuned to endless reruns of The Andy Griffith Show or Leave It to Beaver. He found comfort in the familiar and took quiet joy in routines that felt timeless. A devoted Notre Dame fan, Doug rarely missed a game and brought that same steady enthusiasm—and occasional spirited commentary—to cheering on the Fighting Irish.

In recent years, Doug especially cherished trips to Florida to visit his daughter and her family. He never needed an itinerary or grand plans—being there, sharing everyday moments, and simply spending time together brought him deep contentment.

Doug took immense pride in being a grandfather and showed up faithfully for all of his grandchildren. He made a point to be present—whether it was a game, performance, or school event—always offering encouragement and steady support. Watching his grandchildren pursue what they loved brought him deep joy, and he was especially known for his good-natured heckling of umpires from the stands.

Doug is survived by his daughters, Stephanie (Matt) Quimby and Allison (Matt) Casto; his beloved grandchildren, Ryan, Noelle, Vivienne and Hudson; his cousin and lifelong confidant, Robert “Bob” (Billie) Ragland, who was like a brother to him; and his sisters, Diane Scherb and Susan McClain; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Glenna Mueller; his beloved wife, Debra Mueller; and his granddaughter, Haley Madison Casto.

Rather than a traditional service, the family invites friends to a casual open house on Sunday, February 8th, from 1:00–4:00 PM at the Villages of Oak Manor Clubhouse (17130 Drummond Place, Westfield, IN 46074). This will be a drop-in gathering with no formal program — simply time to share memories and remember Doug together.
