EVERETT C. H. OWENS

EVERETT C. H. OWENS, 97, died Sunday, May 1, 2011, in Valdosta, Ga. Prior to relocating there, he lived in Fort Wayne and served as Pastor at Munson Chapel from 1979 to 1986, and Visitation Pastor at Simpson United Methodist Church from 1986 to 2000. While a pastor, he was also an active community participant. In Fort Wayne, he chaired the Oxford Neighborhood Association, served on the board for the Allen County Council of Aging, and was active with local chapter of NAMI. He is survived by his daughter, Roberta R. Owens. He was preceded in death by wife, Doris Dahl-Hultin Owens; infant son; and daughter, Sheryl. Memorial service is 2 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 2011 at Simpson United Methodist Church with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery, Garvin, Minn. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Simpson United Methodist Church or Legacy of Caring, a nonprofit organization founded by Roberta Owens.
