FLORENCE I. FLECK

FLORENCE I. (RHODES) FLECK, 85, of Lafayette, passed away at 9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014 at Rosewalk Commons. Born Aug. 15, 1929 in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Bertha (Hoover) Rhodes. Florence married Carl Fleck on March 5, 1948 in Fort Wayne and he preceded her in death in 1993. She worked for J.C. Penny before retiring. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Her hobbies included playing bridge and traveling. She especially enjoyed spending time with family. Surviving is a son, Dan (Sue) Fleck of Zionsville; two daughters, Sue (George) Wallpe of Boswell and Jennifer (Jeff) Persinger of Bedford, Va.; two sisters, Joyce Jones of Chicago, Ill. and Alice (Terry) Byrd of Florida; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; and one step-great-great-grandchild. Memorial service is 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014 at Hippensteel Funeral Home, 822 N. 9th St., Lafayette, Ind. Inurnment at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Fort Wayne.
