Freda McBride Obituary

FREDA M. McBRIDE, 90, of Ossian, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, at Markle Health Care Center. Born July 3, 1913, in Wells County, she was a homemaker and member of Ossian United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crocheting and gardening. Surviving are six daughters, Janet (Al) Calendine of Peru, Fay (Roger) Koene-mann of Decatur, Lois (Richard) Biberstein, Bluffton, Joyce Gross of Columbus, Ohio, Clara (Kedric) Bailey of Markle, Vivian (Jack) Stinson of Ossian; five sons, Norman (Anita) McBride of Bunker Hill, Keith McBride of Ossian, Lowell (Laura) McBride of Fort Wayne, Max McBride of Fort Wayne and Bruce (Tina) McBride of Tocsin; brothers, Ralph Mankey of Decatur, Carl Mankey of Craigville; five sisters, Mabel Denis of Fort Wayne, Dorothy Hoffman of Preble, Mary Gould of Wilshire, Ohio, Patsey Dafforn of Yoder and Laura Werling of Ossian; 43 grandchildren; and 48 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilford McBride, Oct. 2, 1970, a daughter, Lorna McBride; three brothers; two sisters; and her parents, Forrest and Nettie Frauhiger Mankey. Service is 11 a.m. Saturday, with visitation one hour prior, at Ossian United Methodist Church, 201 W. Mill St. Visitation is from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 W. Mill St., Ossian. Burial at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Ossian. Memorials to American Heart Association.
