George Alleger Obituary

George Edward "Ed" Alleger, 87, of Ft. Wayne, IN, passed away on November 12, 2023, Ed was born on July 30, 1936, to George and Troas Alleger. He attended Concordia Lutheran High School and later pursued higher education at Purdue University.

Ed proudly served his country in the Army National Guard. After his military service, he embarked on a successful career working at Tokheim Corp. He later became the owner of the Grabill Dairy Sweet for many years.

Ed was a devoted member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, where he found solace and strength in his faith. He was passionately devoted to the love of his life for 46 years. Ed is survived by his wife, Jeanene Alleger; sons, Dan Alleger (Joy), Curt Miller (Lisa), and was preceded in death by his parents and son, Nicholas Miller.

In his free time, Ed had many hobbies. He was a long-time classic car enthusiast, loved railroad history, and traveling. He delighted in spoiling his family with his generosity. A memorial service for Ed will be held on November 28 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by the service at 2:00 PM.

It was my pleasure to work for Ed & Jeanene at the Grabill Dairy Sweet, as night manager. Ed was kind and always greeted me with a smile. My prayers & sympathies are with Jeanene & family. God be with you.

I worked at the Military History Center in Auburn, IN with Ed as a volunteer. He was a very nice person to work with and be around. He was a true gentleman in every respect. My condolences to his entire family.
